A day in the life of a Starfish!

In Starfish class we are always very busy. Our day starts with phonics and we are very good at learning our ‘special friends’.

We are working on our handwriting and making sure that our letter formation is correct. We have our leads in and out so that when we come to join up our handwriting, we are ready.

After phonics we usually do our English work. We love hearing and learning new stories and enjoy reading them together. We think carefully about the text and discuss word meanings.

We enjoy creating a story map of a text and acting it out.

Throughout our day we use the continuous provision. We really enjoy playing, exploring and being creative. We love having a go at new things and become very engaged in our learning.

We keep trying and are very proud of ourselves when we succeed.

During Maths we use lots of practical resources. We count, add and subtract, look at shapes and measure.

We also use Power Maths to support us with our learning.

In the afternoons we enjoy learning about RE, Art, DT, Geography, Science, PE, History and Computing.

We learn, explore and make links within our learning.

In Starfish class we think carefully about our Gospel Values.

In starfish class we love learning and working together as a team!

We also like dressing up too!
